CONCURRENT SESSION: Museums in the Digital Age: Skills and Practices for the Future

As Museums transition into the digital age, there is an increasing need for a new set of digital skills and practices. This presentation will focus on the future of digital in the museum sector and its impact on what digital skills are needed, how are they developed and deployed to ensure a workforce that is both digitally literate and confident. This session will ask participants to consider their own institution’s digital visitor journey, and to compare their institutional and personal levels of digital maturity.

BIO: Christina Sjoberg is a Senior Consultant in the Exhibition Studio. She creates interpretive plans that present and organize content in interesting and thought provoking ways. Christina’s ability to understand the needs of both the client and the audience ensures that the right balance between information and learning is met. Christina holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, where she completed an Honours degree in Psychology and specialized in learning and is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) candidate with the Human Resources Professionals Association. Her passion for human resources, teaching and coordinating educational programs for all ages has brought Christina around the world.
