CONCURRENT SESSION #2: Cultivating Community: Engaging Employees through Volunteer Work

  • THEMUSEUM 10 King Street West Kitchener, ON, N2G 1A3 Canada (map)

We all think we know the value of volunteering in our community. We get the chance to help out the people who need it, engage with a cause we believe in, and feel good about the work we’ve done.  As an employer, encouraging employees to engage with their community has other tangible benefits as well. Caitlin will detail the value of community engagement programming for employers and the potential pitfalls of not having a plan to do so.

Session Speaker: Caitlin Mulroney, Campus Talent & Operations Specialist, North Inc.

BIO: Caitlin received her BA and MA in History from Wilfrid Laurier University before joining North (formerly Thalmic Labs) in 2016. Since then, she’s become an advocate for non-linear career paths into the tech industry, diversity and inclusion, and community engagement. She is also the founder of My Tech Wardrobe, an Instagram account about navigating casual dress codes in the workplace.
